The Gold Rush Continues…

The Wirral peninsula has been on fire this Spring: Black Redstart, Wood Warblers, Eurasian Spoonbill, Red-necked Grebe, Green-winged Teal, Iberian Chiffchaff, Atlantic Puffin, Snow Goose and now the latest addition to the list was a stonking Ring-necked Duck found at RSPB Burton Mere Wetlands.

After hearing news when I got back from college, mum and I legged it out the house and down the road to ‘BMW’ for the duck, which showed distantly from the Bridge Screen at the reserve. This represents teh 18th record for Cheshire, and the 1st for the Wirral peninsula along with with bringing my county list up to 241!
